Rachel Loesch
Medical Director
Dr. Rachel was born and raised in Green Bay, WI (and yes, that makes her a Packer fan!). She received her undergraduate degree from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota and then attended veterinary school at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, graduating in early 2013.
Dr. Rachel practiced veterinary medicine at a small animal hospital in West Virginia for nearly 2 years before moving out to Washington and falling in love with the Pacific Northwest. Dr. Rachel’s specific interests include preventative care, weight management, internal medicine, training/behavioral medicine, and community/client outreach. One of her favorite things is to help teach pet owners tips and tricks to raise their pets, and how to keep them healthy and happy throughout their lives. She is also Fear Free Certified.
In her free time, she loves hiking with her husband and two dogs (Minsi and Mia), reading, checking out new restaurants and breweries, kickboxing, and traveling.
Ksenia Popov
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Ksenia was born in Ukraine and raised in Brooklyn, NY. She has worked in the veterinary industry since high school.
She completed her degree in 2020 at the University of Glasgow School of Veterinary Medicine in Scotland. During veterinary school she had the opportunity to travel to Thailand, Spain, Africa and India to volunteer with veterinary charities and perform surgery and emergency care. Ksenia loves working with all animals but has a particular soft spot in her heart for old grumpy cats and creaky old dogs.
She incorporates medical acupuncture into preventative practice and enjoys improving the quality of life in senior cats and dogs with chronic conditions. Dr. Ksenia Popov is acupuncture (CVAT) and rehabilitation (CCAT) certified.
She’s always excited to meet your furry family members!
Clara Dannemann
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Clara Dannemann was born and raised in Connecticut. She attended Franklin and Marshall College in Pennsylvania for her undergraduate degree in Biology/Animal Behavior. She later attended veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 2022. After graduation, Dr. Dannemann moved to Seattle to complete a year-long rotating internship at BluePearl in Kirkland, WA where she gained invaluable experience in emergency medicine and worked alongside a variety of veterinary specialists in surgery, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, and radiology. In her time away from the clinic, Dr. Dannemann enjoys hiking, camping, exploring the Pacific Northwest, painting, crocheting, and spending time with her partner and their rescue dog, Tasha, and cat, Bart.
An Le
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. An Le was born and raised in Kirkland, Washington. She attended the University of Washington for her undergraduate degree in Biology, then received her veterinary degree at Washington State University in 2019 – making her both a Husky and a Coug! Dr. Le’s interests include preventative care, soft tissue surgery, and ultrasonography. She is also Fear-Free Certified to help ensure a positive experience for our four-legged family members at the clinic, and she has a special interest in advocating for mental health within the veterinary community.
In her time away from the clinic, Dr. Le enjoys spending time outdoors doing activities like hiking and paddle boarding. She also enjoys time indoors reading, playing piano, cooking, baking delicious treats, and rooting for the Seahawks! Dr. Le currently shares her home with her husband, Chris, and rescue dog, Zuko.
Fred Johnson
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Fred spent his childhood on a ranch in Wyoming where he developed his love for animals. He took an unconventional route to becoming a veterinarian. He spent two years pursuing a degree in music education before deciding he wanted to do something more, so he enlisted in the Air Force for 9 years where he was sent on deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan.
Dr. Fred knew he didn’t want to be in the military for the rest of his life and knew he wanted to give back in a humanitarian way. While on vacation in Greece, he learned how well their stray animal population was treated, and he knew exactly how he could give back. He still had two years left on his enlistment, so he researched what he would have to do to become a veterinarian. His path led him to the University of Wyoming where he attained a Bachelors of Animal Science degree.
After four years of hard work, he was accepted to the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine where he met his partner Dr. Holly Hinnant and graduated in 2024. While interviewing for a future career in veterinary medicine, he had two working interviews at Cara clinics where he fell in love with the work environment and knew this was the place for him.

Calli
LVT
Calli is a Seattle native and Licensed Veterinary Technician who has been with Fremont Animal Hospital since its opening and currently serves as Lead LVT. With over a decade of experience since graduating from PIMA Medical Institute of Seattle, Calli has spent her career caring for cats and dogs, with a special focus on empathy and Fear Free appointments. Calli is Fear Free Certified and especially enjoys working with scared or reactive animals, as well as the occasional “spicy” cat. She has wanted to work with animals since elementary school, and that early love grew into a career focused on advocating for patients who need extra patience, understanding, and trust.
At home, she shares her life with Mabel, a sassy calico; Atticus, an Australian/German Shepherd mix; and Alastor, a one-eyed Frenchie.
Tasha
LVT
Tasha has been a licensed veterinary technician since 2017. She joined the Fremont Animal Hospital team in 2022 after five years working in veterinary ophthalmology. When not caring for patients, she spends her time teaching veterinary technology at her alma mater, Pima Medical Institute. She also enjoys knitting and dancing hula (though not usually at the same time).
Makenzie
LVT
Makenzie graduated from Windward College in Hawai‘i in 2019 with an associate’s degree in veterinary technology. She joined Fremont Animal Clinic in March 2023. Her passion for animals began at a young age, inspired by her father’s work as a humane officer and a home that was always filled with pets in need of care. Those experiences led her to pursue a career dedicated to helping animals live healthier, happier lives. She has a special interest in veterinary dentistry and enjoys helping pets maintain excellent oral health.
Outside of work, Makenzie’s two dogs, Poke, a bully mix, and Lilee, a Chihuahua, hold a special place in her heart.
In her free time, she enjoys gardening, exploring a variety of arts and crafts, and discovering new hiking trails throughout the PNW.
Megan
LVT
Megan (she/her) holds an associate’s degree in Aquarium Sciences and worked at the Seattle Aquarium for seven years before deciding to pursue a career change. In late 2023, after completing the veterinary technician program through PIMA, she became a licensed veterinary technician (LVT).
She has loved creatures both large and small throughout her life, with a particular passion for fish and reptiles. Megan feels fortunate to have spent much of her early adulthood working with aquatic species in a husbandry role, and she has greatly enjoyed transitioning into general practice to care for companion animals.
At home, Megan cares for a leopard gecko named Newt and a Kenyan sand boa named Noodle. She also enjoys surrounding herself with plants and has developed a special interest in carnivorous plants and terrarium creation. In her free time, she enjoys quilting, crocheting, and cross-stitching, and she loves the creative process behind each hobby.

Jesika
LVT
Jesika (she/any) grew up just north of New York City. After earning a BFA in painting and drawing, she moved to Washington to pursue a BS in Zoology from Washington State University. She spent five years working in wildlife rehabilitation, primarily caring for squirrels and raccoons, before beginning her career in small animal veterinary medicine in 2019.
She shares her home with two cats. Annie is a shy but affectionate 10-year-old domestic medium hair cat whom Jesika adopted from a shelter at eight months old. While working at her first veterinary clinic, a client rescued an abandoned pregnant cat, and one of the kittens from that litter became her now 6-year-old orange cat, Marty.
Outside of work, Jesika enjoys hiking, road trips, and camping, and she is working toward visiting all of the National Parks. She also continues to embrace her artistic side through cosplay, illustration, and landscape and wildlife photography.
Annika
Veterinary Assistant
Annika joined the hospital team in September 2021 and brings a deep passion for animal care shaped by a lifelong love of animals — a spark first lit in childhood thanks to her family’s golden retriever. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences and Zoology, grounding her work in both compassion and scientific understanding.
At home, Annika’s world revolves around her two charismatic cats: Milkshake, an 8‑year‑old domestic medium hair who proudly takes daily walks, and Mocha, a 3‑year‑old domestic medium hair with an impressive party trick — she can high‑five.
Outside the hospital, Annika is always on the move or creating something delicious. She
loves paddleboarding, skiing, running, baking macarons, going to concerts, playing video
games, and exploring new food spots as a dedicated foodie. Her mix of curiosity, energy, and genuine care makes her a joyful presence for both pets and people.
Jane
Receptionist
Jane joined Fremont Animal Hospital in June 2023 as a receptionist. In her role, she supports the front desk by assisting clients, coordinating appointments, and helping ensure the daily flow of the hospital runs smoothly. At home, she has a shorthair tabby named Spoons, who has a big personality.
Presley
Veterinary Assistant
Presley is a veterinary assistant and a graduate of the PIMA Veterinary Assistant Program. She is Fear Free Certified and is nearing completion of her CAETA certification in peaceful euthanasia. Passionate and committed, Presley strives to provide the most fear-free experience for both pets and their parents, bringing compassion and empathy to every situation. She aims to be a calm, steady presence for animals at all stages of life.
She has a special place in her heart for senior and arthritic patients, spicy opinionated cats, and anxious dogs, and is dedicated to supporting their comfort, quality of life, and every phase of their journey.
Presley has loved animals from a young age and has always felt a deep connection to them. She considers it an honor to be entrusted by pet parents to care for their beloved babies each day. Outside of work, she shares her life with her husband and their two precious babies, Charley, a grey tabby cat, and Baxter, a Pomeranian mix.
Gemma
Veterinary Assistant
Gemma grew up in Bend, Oregon, and went on to attend Whitman College. She is currently taking a few years to gain hands-on experience in veterinary medicine before pursuing her long-term goal of attending veterinary school.
Outside of the hospital, Gemma stays active and adventurous. She plays competitive ultimate frisbee and is a member of Seattle’s professional team. When winter rolls around, you can often find her backcountry skiing in the mountains. At home, she shares her life with her two cats, who keep things fun and full of personality.
Taye
Veterinary Assistant
With seven years of experience as a veterinary assistant, Taye is dedicated to compassionate, fear-free care for every patient, especially the spicy cats and nervous dogs. She treats every animal as if they were her own and prides herself on being a strong advocate and voice for those who can’t speak for themselves.
Taye’s long-term goal is to work in zoology and exotic animal care, preferably in wildlife conservation; aspiring to follow in the footsteps of Steve Irwin and Jane Goodall.
At home, Taye’s house is run by her two perfect cat children, Ronald Weasley, a fluffy orange boy; and Neville Longbottom, a silly Torbie lady.
Mya
Receptionist
Mya was born and raised in California, and moved to Seattle with her family as a teenager. She attended the University of Washington, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies. She has loved all animals from a young age, and caring for her own pets at home helped spark her interest in animal care. Mya has a very playful 3 year old tuxedo cat named Cricket (also known as “Kitty”). In her free time, she enjoys snowboarding, camping, paddleboarding, baking, and collecting CDs and vinyl.
